Village Nutrition offers education, expertise, and quality products to assist in acquiring and maintaining optimum health.
Village Nutrition began in 1966 as Joy Health Foods in Asbury Park, NJ with David's father, Mark Cohen. In 1972, the family moved to Florida and Joy Health Foods became Nutrition World and a chain of family - owned health food stores were formed that served Florida's east coast for over 36 years.
With the death of his father, David inherited the original store and became the originator of one of the earliest E-commerce sites on the Net and for the next eight years. David and his wife Cheryl were also radio talk show hosts for Nature's Impact Radio in West Palm Beach and Port St. Lucie, Florida while also hosting the Health Chat section of AOL for the next three years.
Eventually, Nutrition World was sold, and David and Cheryl retired to Hot Springs Village. After three months of "retirement," they opened a little 500 square foot store outside The Village in June 2007 and the name changed yet again to Village Nutrition. Okay, a semi-retirement hobby. Right? Wrong. It soon became apparent that 500 square feet was clearly not big enough so when a larger space became available across the street, another move was inevitable. Village Nutrition remained there for about ten years until once again, it was moved down the road to a more prominent location where they happily served the community for about the next five years until in October 2022, when it was obvious that the area had grown both in population and in their required health needs so Village Nutrition tripled its size and acquired most of the shopping center space available.
Village Nutrition now serves not only the Hot Springs Village community but also the surrounding areas as well. The mission of Village Nutrition is to empower our customers to live a healthier lifestyle by offering quality products at affordable prices with friendly, knowledgeable staff.
